Some women are in touch with me in their first trimester, while others don’t reach out until their third trimester. This is completely up to the individual. I will support you at every stage of your pregnancy through to your precious slow postpartum.

• Consultations with the pregnant mom
• Consultations with the couple preparing for the birth
• Help coming up with questions for the health care provider
• Review of medical interventions, options, risks and benefits
• Review of tools to ease discomfort and help labour to progress
• Exercises given for deep breathing and connecting with baby
• Assistance writing and editing a simple birth plan
• Pregnancy coaching - going beyond fear and anxiety
• Consultations postpartum for processing your birth story
• Calls to discuss inevitable questions during the fourth trimester

 

Local Doula Support

My local birth doula services typically include:
• At least two educational prenatal meetings at your home
• Unlimited phone/email/text communication
• Help coming up with questions for the health care provider
• Assistance writing and editing a simple birth plan
• Being on-call for three weeks surrounding the due date
• Accompaniment and coaching throughout labour and delivery
• Act as an advocate in the hospital to translate medical terminology & ‘slow time’
• Photography dependant on hospital protocols.
• Record of birth notes to create personal ‘birth story’
• Help getting breastfeeding off to a solid start
• One or two postpartum visits to process birth and check in on the transition at home
